Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to do first?

The first thing needed to build a house of any description is land. This is necessary before anything else so that when the blueprints begin, we will have a specific site from which to work, and so that we will be able to lay down the house so as to catch the best views from your particular parcel.

Once the land is found, walked, tested and purchased, our talented and knowledgeable in house design team will meet with you and using their expertise, you will be able to design your home just the way you want it. We will also submit your plans to the appropriate government body depending on the location of your land, see that it passes each inspection and get you ready to build your new home!

How long does it take to design a house?

Usually 2 to 4 weeks for preliminary, but it may take longer depending on the client's prompt response, and the number of changes. When you contact us, we will let you know when we will be able to start working on your house. This will depend on the workload we might have at that time

Can we make changes to the design in the home?

Yes. Unlike other production builders, we are a custom home builder. We can incorporate your ideas and design the home as you request as long as it meets the requirements of the building and zoning codes.

How much does one of your homes cost?

Costs are dependent on the location, size, design, material choices and complexity of construction. We will personally work with you to develop a home design that fits your budget.

What happens if I encounter changes during construction?

We anticipate that everyone will make changes throughout the construction process; therefore we have implemented a change order system. The client will approve and sign off on the change order, generated by the project manager or a project coordinator, prior to the start of any additional work.

How long does it take to build a house from the ground up?

Again, many variables exist such as square footage, elaborate design, terrain, and here in the mountains, the weather.  Ground breaking to turn key can take anywhere from six to twelve months.  Most of our houses are built between six and twelve months.
